What To Do Isn’t The Problem
But you knew that already.
Didn't you?
You've had your idea for months, years, decades even.
You've been talking about (INSERT YOUR IDEA HERE, YOU KNOW THE ONE) since you graduated from High School...

Wait, college…
Wait, when you got married…
Wait, when you had kids…
Wait, when you got that promotion…
Wait…
Oh no, that's what you've been doing for as long as you can remember
Waiting for the right time to get started. To get moving. To get after it.
You've been waiting your life away. Talking. Talking more. Talking again. Talking more. Talking to someone else. Talking to your family. Talking to your friends. Talking. And Talking. And Talking.
And don't get me wrong. We all do this.
But now is the time.
TO MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN.
TO GET STARTED. TO GET GOING. TO GET UP. TO GET AFTER IT.
There Is No Impact Without Contact
You’ll hear me say this often:
“There is no impact without contact.”

NONE. NADA. ZERO.
If you want to create some 'healthy' damage in this life. You have to start. You have to put in the work, the effort, the grind, the hustle, the get-after-it-ness.
I'm not talking about success at the finish line.
I'm talking about the starting line.
You don't become a runner until your shoes hit the pavement. You're not a painter until the brush hits the canvas. You're not a writer until the pen hits the paper. You're not a gardener until the shovel hits the dirt. You're not in sales until you pick up the phone. You're not in ministry until you share your faith. You're not a carpenter until you pick up the hammer. And on… and on... and on…
NOONE IS TELLING YOU TO BE THE EXPERT.
NOONE IS TELLING YOU TO GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.
NOONE IS TELLING YOU YOU'LL BE GOOD AT IT. Heck, even average.
But I know this. You'll never be an expert until you start. You'll never get it right until you try. You'll never be good until you practice.
Getting Started Allows You To Finish
I hate when people say, “It’s not how you start. It’s how you finish”. This is the reason people don’t start. Because they’re concerned about how ‘they’ll finish.’
“It’s getting started, that allows you to finish.”
You have to start somewhere. No one is an overnight success. ALL OF THE "OVERNIGHT SUCCESS" stories have been 10 years in the making.
C'mon — you know this is true. You know you've got that idea in the back of your head waiting to be lit on fire. You know you want to try it. To do it. To see what happens.
STOP waiting. I'm serious. Stop. No more excuses. No more next week, next month, next year. NO MORE.
NOW IS THE TIME. TO THINK BIG, START SMALL, GO DEEP.
Every person you admire started somewhere. Every person who has done something meaningful, something that matters started somewhere. AND YOU CAN TOO!
YOU CAN DO THIS! YOU CAN GIVE IT A GO!
If you fail, who cares. Noone. Yes, I said it — Noone.
When I was a kid, my father coached my little league teams.
And there was nothing worse than 'striking out looking.' Because if you were going to strike out — you better go down swinging.

Do you want this to be your life?
You went down swinging. You got up to the plate, and you took your chops. You went for it. You let loose on the fastball — and you missed! So what. You might make contact. You might drop a looper into left field. You might stroke a line-drive double off the right-field wall. Heck — you might drop a bomb dead center field 420 ft from the plate.
BUT PLEASE — Don't do go down without swinging.
ARE YOU FIRED UP!? Maybe not, some of you are offended. Tired. Worn out.
But others — you're dreaming. About your idea. About getting started. About putting your shoes on the pavement. The brush on the canvas. The pen on the paper.
And that's what I want you to hear. You can, and you should go for it!
What's the worse that could happen? You hate it, so you quit! You try and you fail. Welcome to the club. You're one step closer to finding 'your thing' and making your 'impact' on this world. CMON, LET'S DO THIS!
Don't be average. Don't do it. I won't let you. And you don't want to be.

Tip For Growth:
What is your minimum viable product?
Here is what I mean… what is the smallest, simplest, most straightforward way to test your idea and see if you like it, enjoy it, and does it work?
Look for the most infinitesimal way to get started on your idea today, this week, this month. And see how it goes!
